Bowmaker originally apprenticed at W.E. Hill & Sons (1967 ??" 1972), followed by a period working with John Clutterbuck. Bows cleanly worked in the Hill tradition. Bows made whilst with Clutterbuck stamped J.S. Rameau with SB initials to differentiate between the makers (Clutterbuck's bows similarly branded JC). (bows stamped J.S. Rameau)
