Hel, Pierre Jean Henri

Hel was apprenticed under Bazin before working for his father, Pierre Joseph. On his father's death Pierre Jean took over the Lille-based business, after which he won several prizes at expositions. On his bows, Hel used the brand 'P. Hel a Lille', although Roda suggests that bows bearing his brand were actually made by fine bow makers on his behalf.
