A Rare Guitar by Enrique Garcia, Barcelona 1906
Description
A full-sized rosewood model, with seven fanbraces and two lower diagonal ones. Francisco Tárrega is believed to have played a 1906 Garcia guitar number 74; later in the hands of Ida Presti (see: Grondona & Waldner, Masterpieces of Guitar Making, pp.68-72). Since Fleta was making mainly orchestral stringed instruments before the 1930s, this guitar may have influenced his own making.
