Angelo Gaudino
Angelo Gaudino (1933-2020) graduated in violin and viola in 1957 from the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples with Alberto Curci.
Angelo Gaudino joined the Alessandro Scarlatti Orchestra of Naples and served as its first violinist from 1968 to 1992, the year it closed. In 1965 he began teaching at the Luigi Boccherini Music Institute in Lucca, subsequently teaching at the Conservatories of Reggio Calabria, Potenza, and finally at his alma mater, San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples (1973-1993).
He won several competitions, including the Corelli and the Citta di Vittorio Veneto. In 1967 he was awarded the Alberto Curci International Competition in Naples. He performed extensively as a soloist in major Italian and international cities (Spoleto, Paris, Lugano, Barcelons, Budapest), primarily for RAI with the Alessandro Scarlatti Orchestra. He also collaborated with the Hayden Orchestra of Bolzano, the RAI Symphony Orchestra of Rome, the Orchestra of the Teatro San Carlo of Naples and with I Virtuosi di Roma since 1974.
The beautiful Gennaro Gagliano was his main instrument.
The violin is in excellent condition, retaining much of its original varnish.
