"Although Brompton's offered a number of interesting instruments, the house had the lion's share of the higher-end violins this auction week. Five world records were set here, on violins by Giorgio Seraphin (£168,000), Grancino (£144,000), Camilli (£108,000), Tecchler (£102,000) and Sacconi (£48,000). It's interesting to note, though, that apart from the Tecchler (estimated at £45,000 - £65,000) and Sacconi (in at (£18,000 - £25,000), even though the prices realised were world auction records, they actually fell well within the brackets of the estimates, showing the house's acute knowledge of the market."
