Son and pupil of Giuseppe, his earliest work was probably made in conjunction with his father and dates from around 1840. By 1851 he was a prolific and successful maker in his own right. He entered all the major international exhibitions which were becoming common in that period, and developed a slightly more classical style than his father, with a lighter orange red varnish.
