This instrument was previosuly owned and played by Italian cellist Aldo D'Amico. Born in Siracusa, he stdied in Rome at the Conservatory of S. Cecilia, graduating under the direction of with Giuseppe Selmi, followed by further study under Enrico Mainardi at Accademy of S. Cecilia. In 1966 he formed the Casella piano trio, and in 1968 we won the first prize at the Chamber Music Competition of Turin. He played in various duo, trio, and ensemble groups, as well as orchestras such as RAI di Rome, S. Cecilia Academy, theatre La Fenice in Venice, Solisti Aquilani, and " I Musici di Roma, both in Italy and abroad. He was also a distinguished teacher at numerous music conservatories, such as Trento, L'Aquila Pesaro, and Rome.
