b. 1887, Paris

Andre Chardon was the grandson of Joseph Marie Chardon (1843 1940) who was the son in law of Georges Chanot II, and succeeded him in business. Chardon's bows are considered some of the best of the 20th century. Chardon worked with his father Georges Chardon from 1912. His bows are usually based on the Peccatte model, the quality of the wood usually of the finest and much sought after by musicians. Stamped Chanot et Chardon Paris, and occasionally CCC or C.C. Paris. Chardon also made artistic copies of Tourte and Lupot.
