Marconcini, Luigi

Active 1768-1791, Ferrara

A fine maker in the style of Guidantus, he apparently spent the years 1760-68 in Bologna, although Guidantus himself died in 1760. All his known instruments are labelled from his native town of Ferrara. Generally a full arch with a narrow but deep edge flute, neat work and a hard golden yellow varnish. His son Giuseppe (1772-1816) was also a maker and a correspondent of Count Cozio di Salabue.
