Active ca 1712-1720

Important maker of the early eighteenth century English school, and one of the first makers in Europe to fully appreciate and follow Stradivari. His style is developed from the last generation of great English viol makers, but his origins and circumstances are not yet firmly established. His label is very rare, but his work appears under the name of other London dealers of the time, notably John Hare.
