Active ca. 1740-1760, Verona, Venice and Padua

Taught by his father, Giovanni Battista, who worked on a well-managed Stainer form. Giacomo seems to have had some experience in Venice, and his cellos are firmly modelled on the Montagnana pattern. Very finely made instruments generally well designed and not excessively arched. Good, rich golden yellow varnish. Returned to Verona after the death of Giovanni Battista, from where instruments are labelled after 1750.
